Hmmm....this will be a one liner.

Day one of the new technological phase of my life. That's right...the blog. I don't know if yall will actually read these things, but I want yall to know right now, that if my phonecalls from you guys goes down because now you can get my update without actually talking to me....then I'll put you all on family time out, and never write another blog again. So that means if most of you call less then zero times a month, and if Christy calls less then 20 times a month, then I'm done. Yup- don't push me, because I'll TOTALLY go there.
Well now that's established, I'm currently sitting in the library simply because it is my daily ritual after school. That's right. Everyday, after class, I come to the library to do homework. And then there are days like today where I've followed my routine even though there's no homework to be done on these computers.
Swing dancing has been a blast, as usual. I'm dancing about 20 hours a week these days because...well...just because. As mom knows about me already, I'm definitely the victim in this situation. I blame the fact that my only friends are swinging addicts. In fact, one of them showed me a fabulous swing shirt that had "swing dancing ruined my life" printed on it-- pretty accurate i guess:) But if we're all going to die someday, I'd like to follow Tom Petty's motto that 'yeah, i went down, swingin.'
So, as far as swing news goes; I'm entering my first jack and jill contest at a SLC expo next weekend, and I'm trying not to get nervous. I hope I don't get eliminated in the first round? well- okayo- maybe in the first round, but DEFINITELY not the first couple. If that happens, I'm going to do something CRAZY like pout or something. Anyways, I'm also going to try to hit a mini exchange thing going on in Sun Valley by Boise this weekend since I'm going to be up there for a wedding this weekend anyways. (yes- I pluralize the word anyway, as shown in the official Scribner Sister dialect). And teaching? only rarely, because there's too many teachers up here-- but I still get to do it a ton on the individual levels during the social dance hours. I LOVE IT! I can't even help it--I absolutely LOVE teaching. and I see my students everywhere on campus, which is so fun!
Speaking of teaching, I got released from my gospel doctrine class, but have a new calling in the Relief Society, which I'm absolutely horrid at staying on top of. heaven forbid that my calling from the Lord impede on 1 percent of dance time, right? You have to know the church is true when you see what irresponsible people the Lord trusts to run it, and then you see that He still makes the church function beautifully! But don't worry- I'LL DO BETTER:) ...the endless motto:)
I love my film study class, and love watching films every week. (good choice jimbob and steph). We watched high noon yesterday, and when we watch, all the classes go to the theatre. It's straight off of the cinima scenes in Cinima Paradiso, the way that the whole class reacts and gets way into the films. WAY fun.
Meanwhile. Spanish stinks with Mrs. Heartless teaching the class. I like the language okay, though, so it makes the hour bearable. English and History are fun, and are my best subjects. Well, that and Book of Mormon class of course. I love our class discussions, and having an hour just to feel the Spirit. It makes me feel not too far away from the mission, and it's fun to write the doctinal papers as well. My last one was on hope, and was fun to explore. There are also really cool 'seminary teaching' classes as well that I'm planning on taking because I LOVE teaching. have I told yall how much i like teaching yet?
I'm pretty sure teaching is the Scribner plague; and for all those years I spent desperately trying to talk all yall out of teaching, I'm afraid I've fallen into the trap myself. Why couldn't we all just be electrical engineers like dad?
Well that's it folks- all 20 pages of my first blog. Still trying to figure out the pictures part. ...wait for it...
time to go catch the end of Charmed:)
lolo
